One of the great mineral localities of the world, and still a working tungsten mine in central Portugal, running since 1898. Its cavities produce museum-grade wolframite crystals and the famous lustrous blue-green apatite that collectors prize above almost anything else from Europe. An ACTIVE industrial mine (no casual entry), but Panasqueira specimens are in every major collection and are sold worldwide.
