A single abandoned street of ornate merchant mansions at Sonargaon in Bangladesh, built by Hindu cloth traders in the 1800s and emptied in the twentieth century, now standing roofless and vine-grown on both sides of a lane less than a kilometre long. Sonargaon was a medieval capital and the heart of the muslin trade that once clothed the world. PUBLIC, near Dhaka.
