The grand stone resort on the side of Sunset Mountain above Asheville, built in 1913 of boulders hauled up by mule, where F. Scott Fitzgerald drank away two summers. Its ghost is the Pink Lady, a young woman who fell to her death in the atrium in the 1920s and has drifted the halls in a rose gown ever since, gentle and fond of children. A working grand hotel; you can go have a look.
