Built for 250 patients and holding well over two thousand by the 1950s. It ran from 1864 to 1994 and reopened as a tourist site in 2008; the operators now run daylight history tours and after-dark paranormal hunts March through November. Ghost Hunters and Ghost Adventures both filmed here.
