Four quartzite hills rising abruptly out of the Kalahari sand in Botswana, carrying over four thousand rock paintings, some many thousands of years old, and holding deep spiritual significance for the San and Hambukushu, who know them as a place where the spirits of the dead dwell and where the first people came down to earth.
