The haunting that killed a man, or so the county held
The Bell family of Robertson County was tormented from 1817 to 1821 by something that spoke, struck and, the family said, poisoned John Bell to death. Andrew Jackson is supposed to have visited and left early. It is the only case in American folklore where a court is sometimes said to have named a spirit as a cause of death, and the cave on the old farm is open to visitors.
