The one ancient wonder never located; possibly at Nineveh instead

One of the Seven Wonders of the ancient world, and the only one nobody can find. Greek and Roman writers described terraced gardens watered by an engine of screws above the walls of Babylon in Iraq, but no Babylonian text mentions them and excavation of the city has never turned them up. One serious modern theory relocates them entirely, to Nineveh, built by the Assyrian king Sennacherib, whose own inscriptions boast of exactly such a garden and whose aqueducts survive. Babylon itself is very real and now a UNESCO site. Iraq carries severe travel advisories.
