The only confirmed person in history hit by a meteorite, 1954
On 30 November 1954 Ann Hodges was asleep on her sofa in Sylacauga, Alabama when a four-kilogram chondrite came through the roof, hit a radio and struck her on the hip, leaving an enormous bruise. She is the only person in recorded history confirmed to have been struck by a meteorite. What followed was almost as improbable: the Air Force took it, her landlady sued for ownership, the fight went on for a year, and the stress helped wreck her health and her marriage. The meteorite is at the Alabama Museum of Natural History.
