At the base of the American Falls at Niagara you ride an elevator down into the gorge and walk a boardwalk out under the falling water itself, close enough to touch it, onto the Hurricane Deck where the spray hits like a storm. It is rebuilt every year because the winter ice tears it out. As close to the raw power of Niagara as a person can stand.
