A real, 145-year-old town of practising spiritualist mediums
On the shore of Cassadaga Lake sits Lily Dale, the largest and oldest spiritualist community in the world, founded in 1879, where the dead are said to speak through the town’s registered mediums as they have for a century and a half. Its Inspiration Stump in the leafy grove holds public message services all summer. Whatever you believe, the town is entirely real, and it takes its work seriously.
